Dhaka International University formally formed a separate  research cell “Tobacco Control and Research Cell” (TCRC) which work for  save the youth generation from harmful aspects of Tobacco, discourage the farmers to tobacco cultivation and also to play an important role in the formation of a beautiful, good health and smoking and drug free Bangladesh. For Making Tobacco-free Bangladesh, TCRC, Bangladesh Anti-Tobacco alliance, National Tobacco Control Cell (NTCC), non-governmental and international organizations work together.

4 crore 13 lakh people use tobacco in Bangladesh. 63% of the population of Bangladesh is 15.1 million people who are neglected at work. Every year, around 1 lakh people die due to various diseases caused by smokers and 3, 82,200 people get infected with tobacco related diseases. On the other hand, more than 30 percent of Bangladesh’s population is young and young, and this is the main focus of Tobacco companies in the youth society. The main cause of long-term diseases of the lungs including cancer, heart disease, hypertension, stroke, heart attack, diabetes, asthma, smoke and smokeless tobacco use. Bidi-cigarette smoke contain nicotine; Carbon monoxide; Methanol; Arsenic; etc. There are more than 4000 violent chemical elements with DDT; Out of which 43 directly develop human body cancer.

TCRC is going on in co-operation with Advisory of The Vice-Chairman of Dhaka International University Board of Trustees, Barrister Shameem Haider Patwary and Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. K. M. Mohsin and Dr. S. Quadir Patwari the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University.
